Where does tutoring take place?Tutoring can take online, at home, or at a library of your choice. Tutors individually decide what services they are willing to offer. Students will be able to choose from a list of tutors that fit their desired service type.
-
What subjects are offered? The subjects offered solely depend on the tutors that join the platform. For example, if a tutor signs up to teach piano lessons, then Evolve Tutoring now offers piano lessons. As long as the tutor shows proficiency in the subjects they wish to teach, then Evolve will add that subject to their offered services. Please refer to the Subjects Catalog to find all of the services currently being offered on Evolve. The catalog is constantly being updated. If you don't see your desired subject, sign up to be alerted once your subject is added to the catalog.
-
How do I request a session?Once you create your account, you can request a session from your dashboard, or by using our Tutors tab.
-
Can I trust my tutor?Yes. Our professional tutors are put through proficiency checks to insure they are experts in their subjects. Additionally, tutors can opt-in to a background check. Tutors that pass their background check have a certified checkmark on their profile. We highly encourage our students to work with certified tutors.
-
What can I expect from my session?Evolve Tutoring provides tutors with a session guideline to follow, however, it is not required. The tutor decides how best to conduct their sessions. After all, they are the experts! Evolve Tutoring provides our tutors with many tools and resources to use at their disposal in order to cater their sessions to each individual student. After a brief introduction, the tutor will begin the session. The student will explain what they need assistance on, then the tutor will address the areas of concern to the best of their knowledge by using various techniques, tools, and resources. Once the time has elapsed, the clock will be stopped by the tutor and the session will conclude.
-
What do I need to bring to my session?Tutors will give special instructions on their profile for what they require you to bring to their sessions. Evolve recommends that, at a bare minimum, you bring scratch paper, a writing utensil, and the textbook that applies most to your subject. You should also bring any supplies that applies to your subject (e.g. calculator, ruler, highlighters, etc.) For subjects such as cooking or music lessons, you should bring the necessary supplies to be fully prepared for that session. If you are taking a lesson online, you will need an electronic device with a functional microphone and camera, as well as the "bare minimums" mentioned above.
-
Where can I find my old sessions? All session and transaction history can be found on your student dashboard.
-
Can I book the same tutor more than once?Yes, you can work with the same tutor as many times as you wish as long as the tutor accepts your requests. You can add any tutor to your "Favorites" list on your student dashboard for quick and easy access.
-
Can I set up recurring sessions?Yes. You can send requests to your favorite tutors far in advance. As long as the tutor has time availability for your desired time, you can send them a request.
-
Can I review my sessions at a later date? This function is not yet available, but we are working diligently to add this feature to our site. Follow us on social media to get notified about new site features and content!
